“What Should I Be Thinking During a Job Interview [or Business Meeting]?”

I recently read this article regarding, well, its title.  However, I imagined myself in a business meeting that happened a few days ago, and I think the strategy discussed in this job interview article also applies once you’ve landed or had a job for 10 years.  The gist?  Don’t think too much, but rather, be an active listener.  Obviously, if you go into a coma-like state while someone is speaking, you won’t really be equipped to answer his questions, or reply to his comments, once he’s done, but concentrating on others’ perspectives for just a moment will actually add value to the next […]

How to Write A Biotech Researcher Resume…

…and other sorts.  One of the greatest tips I’ve taken with me from working with career services is to keep my resume current.  That means that even when I am happy and content with my job, and plan to stay for as long as they’ll have me, I should still maintain my resume.  Maybe I keep a file of accomplishments at work, that can later be used to add “brag points” to my resume, or I simply add each new position and promotion to my existing resume as I earn it.  However, even when my existing resume seems good to […]
